Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and certified Medical Assistant/Technician to join our team, providing both administrative and technical support in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing a variety of clinical tasks, including vital signs monitoring, venipuncture, spirometry, and audiometry, as well as emergency medical services when required. This role requires adherence to state regulations and the ability to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Clinical and Technical Support:
- Provide administrative assistance and perform technical tasks at the Service Provider Site (SPS).
- Conduct vital sign measurements, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Administer first aid and CPR, and perform EKGs, venipuncture, spirometry, and audiometry as needed.
- Ensure all clinical tasks are performed according to state regulations and within the scope of practice.
Emergency Medical Services:
- If functioning as an EMT, provide training for designated federal or contractor staff in CPR/AED and first aid.
- Respond to medical emergencies within the designated area, such as Department of Energy campuses, and provide appropriate emergency care.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Enter all services provided into the Federal Occupational Health Service (FOHS) Management Information System (MIS) accurately and promptly.
- Maintain proper records and documentation for all clinical procedures and emergency responses.
Training and Education:
- Provide training in CPR/AED and first aid to designated staff when functioning as an EMT.
- Stay current with certifications and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members to ensure high-quality care delivery.
Location: This position is based within a Federal Occupational Health setting, with the potential for occasional travel depending on operational needs.
QualificationsCertification/Licensure:
- Certified/licensed as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Medical Technician (CMT).
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
- Proper training and certification to perform venipuncture in accordance with state requirements.
- Certified by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) when performing audiometry.
- Completion of a NIOSH-approved course when performing spirometry.
- Certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) when providing EMT services, per interagency agreements (e.g., Department of Energy).
Experience:
- At least six (6) months of experience as a CMA/CMT.

Compensation - Min: $50,000| Max: $70,000
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits. The final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
