WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for but not limited to assisting the physicians in the exam rooms, for escorting and assisting patients within the center, for setting up and maintaining the exam rooms in a readiness state for patients and for monitoring supplies and equipment
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check lab boxes outside the office ever) morning to make sure the samples were picked up and to verify if the lab left any results.
- Participate actively during daily huddles.
- Escorts the patient to and from the exam room and assists the patient in necessary preparation for the physician visit.
- Responsible for taking vital signs, collecting specimens and performing procedures (EKG, Spirometry, etc.)
- Make use of the Quality Assurance instrument to keep track of health care maintenance activities.
- Assists with the examination of the patient, as directed by the medical provider.
- Maintains the exam room between patient and physician use to ensure readiness for the next patient.
- Maintains other areas of the facility as directed.
- Responsible for the ordering, restocking and maintenance of supplies, vaccines and equipment used in exam rooms and rest rooms.
- Responsible for maintaining medication samples and vaccine distribution logs; and destruction of expired medication samples.
- Performs the duties of the receptionist as directed by the Office Manager or Medical Director.
- Responsible for assuring that rest rooms and waste cans are clean throughout the day.
- Facility inspection: ensure that lab samples are prepared and taken out, no samples or vaccines left in exam rooms and sanitize lab room sink and counter.
- Medical Assistants are required to participate in daily huddles, staff and Quality Assurance meetings.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant/Technician program preferred
