Key Responsibilities:

· Billing & Claims Management: Accurately post charges and complete claims to payers in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all billing guidelines.

· Insurance Submissions: Submit billing data to insurance providers and work claims/claim denials to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided.

· Coding Accuracy: Resolve claim denials related to coding errors, perform coding charge corrections, and rebill as needed to resolve coding denials.

· Provider Support: Advise and educate providers on billing and documentation policies, procedures, and regulatory changes. Communicate with provider staff to clarify any ambiguous or conflicting medical documentation.

· Daily Billing Operations: Review and resolve all daily claim scrubber edits, and complete necessary paperwork/documentation for claim/encounter information.

· Denial Management & Prevention: Identify and communicate trends in claim denials and provide education to prevent future avoidable denials.

· Special Projects: Take on special projects as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager to support the billing department’s success.

Qualifications:

· Experience: 2+ years of experience in Orthopedic/ASC Medical Billing.

· Technical Proficiency: Expertise with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically eClinicalWorks.

· Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.

· Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

· Multi-Tasker: Able to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

· Technical Skills: Typing speed of 35 words per minute, experience with data entry, use of 10-key calculating equipment, and handling collections.
