Medical Billing Specialist - TEKsystems

Description:

As a Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes for our medical office. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Duties:

- Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate codes using ICD-10, ICD-9, and other coding systems

- Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims for reimbursement

- Ensure compliance with billing regulations and guidelines

- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or denials

- Collaborate with medical staff to obtain missing documentation or clarification on coding issues

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient billing records

- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments

- Prepare financial reports related to billing activities

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Education/Skills:

• High school diploma or GED minimally required. Two (2) + years directly related and progressively responsible experience and/or college degree.

• 40 WPM

• Fundamental understanding of key payers including Medicaid, Medicare and private payer
