We are seeking a knowledgeable Medical Coding Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical coding and billing processes, including familiarity with various coding systems such as ICD-10.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze patient medical records to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Utilize coding systems, including ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG, to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Comply with all legal requirements regarding coding procedures and practices.
• Conduct audits and coding reviews to ensure all documentation is accurate and precise
• Assign and sequence all codes for services rendered.
• Communicate with insurance companies about coding errors and disputes.
• Submit statistical data for analysis and research by other departments.
• Collaborate with medical office staff to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and regulations.
• Assist in resolving discrepancies related to medical billing and collections.
• Provide support for the implementation of new coding systems or updates as needed.

Requirements

• Must have minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Coding
• Proficiency in medical coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9).
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and its application in coding.
• Experience in medical office settings with a focus on medical billing and collections.
• Attention to detail with excellent analytical skills for accurate code assignment.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare professionals regarding documentation needs.
