Certification Required: Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P) / Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Job Summary: Coordinates the daily billing activities of assigned areas. Works independently to maintain consistent workflow of all billing activities. Works collaboratively with the Professional Billing Office, physicians and third party payers. Provides and performs coding functions to optimize revenue enhancement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Administrative Coordinates and monitors daily revenue cycle activities to optimize reimbursement opportunities. Works in conjunction with intradepartmental administration, physicians and other interdepartmental representatives to support established policies and procedures.
- Financial/Billing Optimizes facility and professional charge entry and subsequent collections for all services provided
- Coding Serves as a technical resource to department for coding recommendations.
- Quality Control Ensures the integrity of the billing functions and monitors compliance according to established policies and procedures.
- Professional Development Identifies training and development opportunities for self and assigned staff..
- Professionalism/Teamwork Displays a commitment to the value of teamwork by building strong relationships with patients, families, co-workers and the surrounding community; and, by being cooperative and collaborative in the performance of duties as needed to promote a unified.
Qualifications/Requirements: Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field. Experience: 3-5 years.
