Launching in early 2025, our newest location in Minneapolis, MN, will be home to top local talent in behavioral health care. This interdisciplinary team of trailblazers will build our adolescent and adult programs from the ground up alongside the leadership of well-established clinicians and doctors working in PHP/IOP behavioral health care for the past decade.
As we prepare to launch our Minnesota facility, we are seeking an experienced Site Medical Director to join us. At the heart of Compass, our Medical Directors are entrusted with overseeing the implementation of high-quality care and Compass’s key initiatives. If you are passionate about leading leaders, executing innovative psychiatric program strategy, and providing direct patient care, you would be a great addition to our team.
What You’ll Do:
- As a leader within the Medical Group, you’ll be involved in:
- Supporting and advocating for standards of admission criteria and clinical practice.
- Operationalizing these at a site level.
- Supporting and advocating for key initiative performance.
- Reacting to site-specific challenges including site coverage, grievances, complex case consultation, etc.
- Attending and representing sites at monthly site report out meeting to executive leadership.
- Attending and representing site at Site Medical Director meetings, All Medical Director meetings, Compass Psychiatry Group (CPG) meetings and Regional CPG meetings.
- Program specific development and strategy.
- Partnering with the Regional Medical Director to monitor prescriber budget for identified site.
- Liaising with local and state agencies (DCFS, Department of Aging, Law enforcement, Department of Public Health when applicable).
- Liaising with local hospital systems and laboratories.
- Liaising with Risk Management.
- As a Psychiatrist, you’ll also provide direct patient care, which includes:
- Conducting psychiatric evaluations; making diagnoses and prescribing medication.
- Writing psychiatric clinical records to document all patient contact.
- Participating in Utilization Review/Quality Assurance activities.
- Participating in professional development activities.
Who You Are:
- Allopathic or Osteopath Degree (MD or DO); BE or BC Child & Adolescent or Adult Psychiatrist.
- Four years post-residency or fellowship experience, previous medical and/or executive management experience strongly preferred, including but not limited to:
- Chief Resident/Fellow.
- Faculty position with teaching/research experience.
- Elected leadership position in medical/professional society.
- Management role in private practice group or medical group.
- Excellent communication skills and executive functioning skills.
- Skilled in psychopharmacology and the evaluation and treatment of mental illness.
- Skill and previous experience in psychotherapy including CBT, DBT and ACT modes of therapy.
- Possession of a valid Wisconsin license as a physician and surgeon at the time of appointment.
- Evidence of having completed three years of graduate training in psychiatry in a program approved by the American Medical Association.
