Position Overview:
The Medical Director will oversee and direct the medical care of clients in our addiction recovery center. This role is essential to ensure high standards in medical care, including assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized treatment plans. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in addiction medicine and will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to support recovery-focused care and long-term wellness.

The Medical Director will oversee and direct the medical care of clients in our addiction recovery center. This role is essential to ensure high standards in medical care, including assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized treatment plans. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in addiction medicine and will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to support recovery-focused care and long-term wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical oversight for all clinical and medical components of patient care, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory standards.
- Conduct patient assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Prescribe and monitor medications as needed
- Collaborate with clinical and behavioral health staff to ensure integrated, patient-centered care across disciplines.
- Educate and support patients and families in understanding addiction and the recovery process.
- Lead the development and implementation of clinical protocols and best practices to enhance patient outcomes.
- Serve as a liaison to regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with all legal and medical standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Mentor and provide support for clinical staff, including medical assistants and nursing teams, fostering a collaborative, respectful work environment.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in family medicine or internal medicine preferred.
- Valid medical license in Florida
- Minimum of 5 years of experience
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of effective team management.
- Strong understanding of current best practices in internal medicine, addiction medicine and behavioral health.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
