Lead the Future of Women's Health in New Bedford!
New Bedford Community Health (NBCH) is looking for a dynamic and compassionate Medical Director - Women's Primary Care to lead our multidisciplinary team in providing comprehensive, evidence-based, and compassionate care. Our fast-paced, federally qualified Community Health Center (FQHC) is dedicated to advancing women's health by delivering integrated outpatient primary care and gynecological services, such as pap smears, IUDs, and Nexplanon.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care for women, including routine check-ups, preventive care, management of acute and chronic conditions, and gender-specific screenings.
- Review medical histories, interpret diagnostic tests, and offer patient education on preventive care, healthy lifestyles, and birth control management.
- Supervise, mentor, and support a dedicated multidisciplinary team of Women's Health professionals.
- Oversee and enhance the delivery of outpatient primary care and women's health services, including mental health support and postnatal services.
- Collaborate with other departments and external organizations to improve patient care and ensure effective integration of services.
- Conduct annual evaluations and peer reviews, promoting a culture of inclusivity, respect, and professional development.
Required Education & Credentials:
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience.
- Current and unrestricted Massachusetts Physician License (MD/DO).
- Active DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration.
- Board Certification/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Gynecology (with an interest in Primary Care).
- Current BLS/CPR Certification.
Other Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Interest or experience in community and public health.
- Prior leadership experience preferred.
- Comfortable supporting LGBTQIA+ populations and individuals with substance use disorders.
- Experience providing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
- Primary or secondary language skills in Spanish or Portuguese (preferred).
- Strong proficiency with EMR systems.
