Group Medical Director - Orlando, FL
We are seeking a Group Medical Director to join our 5 hospital locations in the Orlando Metro area. (Curry Ford Animal Hospital, Econ River Animal Hospital, Winter Springs Veterinary Hospital, Edgewater Animal Hospital, Longwood Veterinary Clinic)
This is a medical leadership role with an average of one day a week on the floor. This candidate should be comfortable mentoring in soft-tissue surgery, dentistry, ultrasound and urgent care.
You'll be joining a full service, collaborative team. You will be supported by a team of veterinarians, technicians, and practice managers.
Responsibilities:
- Coaching and mentoring other veterinarians
- Serve as a key medical communication liaison between the hospitals and regional leadership.
- Partner with the Practice Manager to manage the hospital as role models and champions of United Veterinary Care’s brand to provide consistent high-quality care and unmatched client experience to the most pets and clients and to maximize efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
- Train the team on hospital guidelines and practices. Supervise and train the team to ensure compliance.
- Teach and coach on case management, exam room communication, annual reviews and excellent client service and monthly doctor meetings (refer to doctor meeting best practices document).
- Supports regular staff meetings and holds all staff accountable for knowing what has been discussed and how it impacts the health of the hospital.
- Sets the medical vision for the hospital, advocating and ensuring medical quality with optimum client experience.
- Works supportively with the hospital (practice) manager in understanding administrative and personnel issues while building effective teams.
- Engages associate veterinarians by developing talent, creating collaborative relationships, and delivering consistent results.
- Makes sound judgments and utilizes UVC leadership when needed.
- Partner with regional operations leadership team in setting individual and hospital market vision to achieve medical and business goals.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
- 6 plus years as a veterinarian with leadership experience
- Active, or ability to obtain, FL license in good standing to practice
