POSITION: Medical Director/Psychiatrist
STATUS: Full Time; 37.5 hours / week, Part Time
SCHEDULE: Weekdays, 37.5 hours per week
LOCATION: Monroeville and Wilkinsburg
Milestone Centers, a subsidiary of Partners For Quality Inc., is a nonprofit, community-based human services agency supporting individuals with behavioral health challenges and intellectual & developmental disabilities in communities throughout Western Pennsylvania. Milestone Centers has earned certification from the Sanctuary Institute for providing trauma-informed care.
Responsibilities:This position acts as the medical director and advisor for all behavioral health clinical programs which includes participating as a key senior manager in planning, developing, organizing, and directing behavioral health programs.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Demonstrates and reflects a commitment to the mission and values of Milestone by serving others with respect, dignity, and compassion.
- Oversees the development of evidence based clinical services.
- Provides psychiatric expertise for complex cases and quality assurance systems; and, performs special assignments and related work as required.
- Practice within all state and federal laws and regulations.
- Oversees the compliance of the agency's behavioral health services to applicable community standards of care and to State and Federal laws and rules and other regulatory requirements.
- Monitors and enforces all established agency productivity standards.
- Coordinates and supervises the medical practice of all nursing and staff psychiatrists.
- Provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management for consumers in the Outpatient Program and provide support for other Behavioral Health services.
- Collaborate with the management team on improving/innovating client care.
- Monitors the Behavioral Health governmental changes and provide insight in how to be proactive and progressive in planning for future changes and growth
- Communicate effectively with team members, the management team, and external partner.s
- Practice autonomously while providing leadership to staff to create a positive working environment.
- Engage in meetings with internal and external partners.
- Psychiatric evaluations.
- Medication monitoring and management.
- Participate or facilitate treatment teams as scheduled.
- Documentation of services in Consumer’s EHR.
- Review and sign off on Consumer’s Treatment Plan.
- Provide on-site clinical support as clinically appropriate

Qualifications:- Possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
- Completion of three-year residence or training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
- Sound medical decision-making and judgment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive psychopharmacological knowledge.
- Ability to use EHR for documentation of consumer services.
- Act 33 and Act 34 clearance and FBI background check, if applicable
- Valid PA Driver’s license
- Valid MD license in PA
- Board Certification in Psychiatry Adult and Child
