My Best Homecare is a leading home respiratory equipment company with a reputation for providing excellent respiratory services. My Best Homecare is currently looking for a full time medical biller to support our business growth.
The medical biller is responsible for timely processing and submission of complete and accurate claims to Medicare, Medi-Cal, managed care organizations, and private insurance. This position requires at least one year of medical billing experience, preferably DME billing.

The medical biller is responsible for timely processing and submission of complete and accurate claims to Medicare, Medi-Cal, managed care organizations, and private insurance. This position requires at least one year of medical billing experience, preferably DME billing.
The daily job duties may include:
- Review patient charts for accuracy, completeness and obtaining any missing information as required by the payors prior to submitting claims.
- Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.
- Follow up with the payors regarding any discrepancy in payments.
- Identify and bill to secondary or tertiary insurances.
- Post payments, research, and appeal denied claims or partially paid claims.
- Answer patients or insurance telephone inquiries.
- Set up patient payment plans and work collection accounts.
- Update and run collection reports.
- In addition to these general duties, management may request that you perform other duties that fit with your training and background experience or provide further training for new duties.
Education and experience required:
- A high school diploma.
- A minimum of at least one year of medical billing, preferably DME billing.
Knowledge, skill, and abilities needed:
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines including PPO, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other payer requirements and systems.
- Competent use of computer systems.
- Effective communication abilities for phone contacts with insurance payers to resolve issues.
- Customer service skills for interacting with patients regarding medical claims and payments.
- Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment. Being able to prioritize works, and handle conflict in a reasonable fashion.
- Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, collections.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality as per HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to focus and pay attention to details.
