Medical Laboratory Scientist-Associate
JOB SUMMARY
Under direct supervision, responsible for providing technical skills in organizing and performing various medical laboratory procedures and clinical laboratory techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Bachelor s degree in related field required.
Visual Requirements
Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
Additional Licenses and Certifications
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist or equivalent or eligibility to obtain certification within 2 years of hire date is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1.Excellent customer service for both internal and external customers.
2.Knowledge of general laboratory, safety and quality control, principles, techniques, and terminology, and
use of complex medical equipment.
3.Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
4.Excellent written and oral communication skills.
5.Ability to work in a Laboratory Information System.
6.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
7.Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
Job Duties
1.Performs routine laboratory procedures recognizing deviation from expected results.
2.Analyzes and corrects problems with the assistance of more senior personnel.
3.Performs Quality Control and calibrations on instruments.
4.Performs weekly preventative maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment.
5.Accessions samples for in-house testing and referral laboratory testing.
6.Secures , and supplies for clinical testing or reseClienth studies and manages supply requests.
7.Assists in the review and revision of laboratory policies and procedures and in the preparation for
laboratory inspections by various regulatory/accrediting agencies.
8.Performs all other duties as assigned.
