MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1
Associates degree in Medical Laboratory or Laboratory Sciences (MLT)

Current WV, OH, PA or MD Licensure as a Medical Technician within 90 day of hire
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT)

Process and analyze samples, in a timely and orderly fashion, and meet usual and customary levels of productivity, while following procedures for accurate identification

Set up, run, maintain, and adjust laboratory instruments accordingly to policies and procedures

Take appropriate action for quality control in all technical areas and follow infection control procedures for all job-related functions
4
Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients as needed
5
Complete forms and reports findings to nurses and/or physicians
6
Interact with other healthcare workers to solve problems and interpret patient lab results within the framework of medical technology
7
Perform routine and basic laboratory testing within a designated area in the clinical laboratory
8
Recognize testing inconsistency and takes appropriate corrective action
9
Maintain all patent and specimen records accurately, neatly, and legibly
10
Follow hospital, state, and federal guidelines for ensuring a safe environment for workers, patients, and public
11
Maintain compliance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures for safety, security, and infection control
12
Communicate and interact with patients, families, visitors, physicians, departmental and hospital staff, and the public in general, in a manner that demonstrates professionalism and concern for their individual needs

Benefit eligible employees clas ified as at least a 0.5 FTE are eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, tuition programs, retirement, paid time off and a wellness program
Wage Scale:
$19.79 - $29.69/hour Position is eligible for shift differentials based on shift worked and eligible for overtime pay for hours over 40 hours per week
