Job Description: The firm is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney to join its legal team. The ideal candidate will have a background in defending medical professionals and institutions in malpractice cases, with strong litigation skills and an understanding of both legal and medical issues. This role is ideal for an attorney who is passionate about healthcare law and eager to make a difference through high-quality legal representation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defend healthcare providers, hospitals, and medical professionals in medical malpractice cases from inception through trial.
- Conduct legal research, draft motions, pleadings, and prepare case strategy.
- Collaborate with expert witnesses, including medical professionals, to develop strong defense strategies.
- Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials to advocate on behalf of clients.
- Provide legal counsel on risk management and regulatory compliance related to medical practice.
- Manage a caseload of medical malpractice defense cases with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school in Alabama.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical malpractice defense or healthcare litigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong trial experience and knowledge of Alabama healthcare laws and regulations.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure while managing multiple cases.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with medical experts and clients.
