Career Opportunity:
Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada is seeking a full-time, on-site Medical Office Scheduler at the Town Center clinic in Las Vegas, NV. In this position, you will work in a fast-paced, high-volume oncology practice with some of the best physicians in their fields while providing care to patients in a successful healthcare organization.

Professionallygreetsandwelcomespatientsandtheirfriends/family.Answers,screens,anddirectsallincomingcallstoappropriatepersonnelrelayingmessagesbetweenpatientsandclinical staff. SupportsandadherestotheUSOncologyComplianceProgram,includingtheCodeofEthicsandBusinessStandards,andUSOncology’sSharedValues.
Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets patientsandvisitorstotheclinicin a prompt,courteous, andprofessional manner.
- Checksinpatientsandinformsclinical staff ofpatient arrival.
- Providesandexplainspaperworkforthepatienttocompletebefore the examination.
- Collects,proofs for completeness,and scans/files patient forms.
- Updatesdemographicsandinsuranceinformationinthe system.
- Collectsco-paysandbalances;provides receipts.
- Answers phone calls in a prompt, courteous, professional manner. Screens,andrespondstoroutinequestions via phone, electronic communications, or face-to-face contact, routes toappropriatepersonnelortakesthorough messages.
- Pagesclinicpersonnelas appropriate.
- Communicatesmessagesinanaccurateandtimelymanneraccordingto procedures.
- Records patientcancellationsand missed appointments.
- Reschedules
- Notifiesappropriate staff ofthecancellationandmakesnotes in the patient chart.
- Schedule outside consults/procedures ordered by a physician.
- Providesgeneraladministrativesupportby scanning/filing charts and forms or ensuring they are sent to the appropriate department/personnel for filing and scanning.
- Maintainslobbyareain a neatandorderly manner.
- Maintains a legiblesupplyof forms andappropriateofficesuppliesrequiredfordaily activities.
- Adherestoconfidentiality, state, federal,andHIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act)lawsandguidelinesregarding patient records.
- Schedules all CT (CAT) scans, and PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scans, once approved by insurance.
- Maintains the chart message and anything that is in the queue.
- Scans and copies of updated insurance cards.
- Other dutiesas requested.
- Maytype memos and forms.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Highschooldiplomaorequivalent
- Atleasteighteen(18)months of front medicalofficereceptionistexperiencewithinsurance forms andschedulingsoftware is required.
- Knowledgeofthispractice’spersonnel,dailyroutines,andscheduling is a plus.
- ProficiencywithcomputersystemsandMicrosoft Office (Outlook, Word,andExcel) is
- Must completerequirede-learningcourseswithin90daysofoccupying the position.
- Demonstratesadaptability:HandlesDaytodayworkchallengesconfidently;iswillingandabletoadjusttomultipledemands and shifting priorities;demonstrates flexibility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
