We are searching for a professional individual that not only displays a strong commitment to our patients, but also demonstrates intense dedication to providing administrative support throughout the practice. This person is typically the first point of contact that we count on to begin the process of providing each patient with a seamless, satisfying and positive experience.
This position rotates between Check-in and Check-out.
Check-in is responsible for greeting and registering patients, obtaining, reviewing and/or updating demographic, insurance, and other required forms/ information and scanning into charts, collection, and posting of co-payments/patient balances, notification of patient arrival to clinical staff, communication of insurance changes to authorization specialist/billing team, assists patient if help is needed with completing information, and day end reconciliation.
Check out is responsible for answering, handling, and screening incoming telephone calls, insurance verification, electronically sending appointment reminders, scheduling all patient appointments that come to us through various sources, directing each caller to the appropriate person or department, scheduling follow-up appointments at check-out, placing patients in the recall, scheduling in-house testing, assuring all provider instructions/scripts are relayed/provided to the patient/family, and other clerical duties as assigned.
Duties include:
- Check-in as described.
- Check-out as described.
- Obtaining all pertinent patient information.
- Thoroughly completing documentation in the EMR system.
- Attending to provider, patient, and clinical staff needs/questions/concerns related to patient care.
- Professional phone etiquette.
