Overview
AMERISAFE is seeking a detail-oriented, productivity driven professional to add to our “Excellence Team” based in DeRidder, LA. The Medical Only Case Manager Trainee (MOCM-T) will develop necessary skills and abilities to perform as a Medical Only Case Manager Level I. This employee will perform telephonic medical only case management of an inventory of 75 to 100 claims across multiple jurisdictions. The immediate focus will be to clarify the facts and the nature of the injury with employers and medical providers. Timely and professional contacts must be completed and documented as specified in the Claims Policy and Procedures Manual. Under the advice of the Medical Only Case Management Team Leader, the MOCM Trainee will establish a case reserve, authorize compensable medical treatment, process medical invoices, and coordinate with the jurisdictional Senior Field Case Manager regarding appropriate claims management and resolution. Periodic file reviews will be completed and documented into the claims system until the file is closed. The Medical Only Case Manager Trainee reports to the Medical Only Case Management Team Leader.
Upon an offer and acceptance of employment with AMERISAFE, you will be required to complete our pre-employment screening, which includes a criminal background check, a 10-panel drug test and, if applicable, a review of your motor vehicle report. A 10-panel drug test includes amphetamine/methamphetamine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine metabolite (BZE), marijuana metabolite (THCA), methadone, methaqualone, codeine/morphine, phencyclidine, propoxyphene.
Qualifications
- Flexibility with schedule including 8 am to 5 pm and 7 am to 4 pm, depending on region.
- High School Diploma or equivalent formal education.
- Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated, but committed to meeting team goals.

Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service to customers and associates.
- Notify Team Leader of any issues that may impede quality or efficiency.
- Complete all tasks in accordance with established Sarbanes Oxley Work Flows.
- Follow all rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines of Amerisafe and of the Claims Department.
- Attend training classes, workshops, and seminars as directed.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times in accordance with company policy.
- Performance of additional duties may be required as directed by the supervisor.
- Attendance is an essential function of the job.
