About the Job
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality assurance, calibration, and acceptance testing of therapy machines
- Commissioning of treatment planning systems (including Eclipse, VariSeed, and Brachyvision)
- Familiarity with procedures such as 3D-Conformal therapy, IMRT, IGRT, RapidArc, SRS, SBRT, and HDR Brachytherapy
- Patient dose verification using tools like MapCheck and Mobius 3D
- Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to physics and therapeutic services
- In-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
- Ability to maintain radiation delivery quality through quality control programs
- Effective communication skills at all levels
- Organizational skills for smooth task execution
- Commitment to professional standards and patient needs
- Collaboration with medical staff and administration for efficient Cancer Center functions
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Master’s or Doctorate degree in Medical Physics or related field required. Preferred graduate of CAMPEP accredited Medical Physics program.
Experience: Three years’ experience as a Medical Physicist in a Radiation Therapy department, including time spent as a Medical Physics Resident, required. Authorized Medical Physicist as defined by the NRC and/or State agency required within one year of hire.
License(s):
Certification(s): Must have passed part 2 of the American Board of Radiology (ABR) exam upon hire. Within 2 years of hire, must have passed part 3 of the ABR exam and be fully certified in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
