Description
We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Receptionist in Kirkland, Washington. This role is predominantly within the healthcare industry and will require the successful applicant to undertake a range of administrative duties within a private practice medical office setting.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee the scheduling of patient appointments and manage any changes or cancellations
- Answer inbound calls promptly and professionally, ensuring patient queries are resolved efficiently
- Conduct patient check-ins, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately
- Manage patient medical records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and confidential
- Use athenahealth software to maintain patient records and other relevant information
- Perform receptionist duties such as greeting patients, managing incoming and outgoing mail, and maintaining a clean and organized reception area
- Handle patient calls, providing relevant information and assistance as required
- Assist with billing functions, including the collection of copays and reconciliation of deposits
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date and filed correctly
- Print reports as needed for medical staff, management, or regulatory bodies
Requirements - Proficiency in answering inbound calls and managing patient calls efficiently
- Ability to perform billing functions accurately and promptly
- Experience in checking-in patients and managing patient scheduling
- Knowledge of athenahealth or similar healthcare management software
- Experience in maintaining and organizing patient medical records
- Previous experience in receptionist duties within a healthcare setting
- Ability to ensure smooth patient check-in procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
