The Medical Receptionist is responsible to the Center Administrator and provides appointment scheduling, patient registration, cashiering, answers incoming calls and performs other related clerical functions. This primary role provides front office support functions.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm
Work Location: 5901 Colonial Dr., Suite 301, Margate FL, 33063
Primary Responsibilities:
- Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate commitment to superior customer service, including quality and care and concern with each and every internal and external customer
- Represents the Company in a professional manner, following all Company policies and procedures
- Uses, protects, and discloses patients protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
- Accurately and professionally handling all front desk operations including answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling of all appointments, balancing daily collections, addressing routine inquiries, and forwarding non-routine requests to appropriate personnel
- Assists with the inventory and maintenance of business office supplies and the completion of business office reports
- Works daily reports, incomplete encounters, No Show reports, and other designated administrative reports according to office procedures
- Intake and Registration of Patients
- Phone and task support role for providers
- Allscripts PM New Patient Registration
- Patient Portal Management
- Performs clerical duties as directed
- Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 1+ year of receptionist or customer service experience
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft applications, such as Excel Spreadsheets, Outlook, and Word documents and the Proficient level in typing, 50-60 wpm
Ability to drive 10 % of the time if needed to cover other practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of EMR
