Job Title: Medical Records Clerk

Job Description

As a Medical Records Clerk, you will play a key role in maintaining and organizing medical records within a hospital setting. While a medical expeirence is not required, experience as a Medical Assistant or in a medical office will be highly beneficial. This position is part of a long-term contract that may extend for a year or more, providing a stable opportunity to gain experience and work with a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• File, pull, scan, and save documents as electronic records.
• Utilize a small scanner to automatically upload documents and correctly save them in the appropriate charts.
• Manage weekly charts for patients as they come in for appointments.
• Learn to differentiate documents by reading the headers to determine their appropriate categories (Family Practice, Radiology, etc.).
• Maintain reliability and good communication skills.
• Work independently and stay on task with minimal supervision.

Work Environment

Position will be located in the Medical Records department in the basement of the hospital or in the office down the hall from the medical records department, depending on desk availability. The dress code is business casual. The records room is open from 6am to 5pm, offering flexible 8-hour shifts within those hours.
