Position Title: Medical Records Coder I (Certified)
Location: Colton, CA

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- Credentials: Must possess and maintain one of the following credentials:
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) issued by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) issued by the AHIMA.
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) issued by the AHIMA.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) issued by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AACP).
- AND
- Experience: One (1) year of experience within the past five (5) years, coding outpatient stays at an acute care hospital, visits at an ambulatory care clinic, or medical office utilizing ICD-9 (International Coding of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) coding classifications.
- Note: Medical billing is not considered qualifying experience. (i.e., experience billing for supplies and services related to a routine patient visit such as charge codes or coding from encounter forms)
- Experience using an encoder and computerized abstracting systems is desirable.
