Summary
The Medical Records Retrieval Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the medical records retrieval process by ensuring timely and accurate collection of medical records from healthcare providers. This position involves coordination with internal teams, external provider offices, and hospitals to manage caseloads and ensure that the medical record review (MRR) processes run smoothly.
Job Description
- Medical Records Request
- Contact provider offices and hospitals to request medical records.
- Data Management-Record progress and perform data entry using the abstraction tool.
- Caseload Coordination- Work with the Administrative Lead and medical record reviewers to manage caseloads.
- Collaborate with the MRR Team to effectively manage project assignments.
- Coordinate and maintain a system to organize medical records and other necessary materials for efficient MRR processes.
- Make follow-up calls regarding expected charts and provide information to offices.
- Send fax requests to providers.
- Use online websites and internal applications to research provider and claims information.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel daily to manage projects and report progress and barriers to leads.
- Demonstrate perseverance in finding the correct information to retrieve medical records.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including potential minimal travel.
- Excellent customer service and phone skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in customer service, office assistance, clerical work, member or provider outreach, and provider relations
- Proficiency in computer use for conducting work activities
- Experience in medical records, release of information, and medical records department
