Introduction: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Staff Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical staff services department by coordinating administrative functions, managing credentialing processes, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities of the Medical Staff Coordinator:

• Coordinate the credentialing and recredentialing process for all medical staff and allied health professionals, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and organizational standards.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical staff records, including application files, appointment documentation, and privileging information.
• Serve as a liaison between medical staff, department chiefs, and administrative personnel to facilitate communication and resolve issues.
• Prepare for and manage the logistics of medical staff meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, minute taking, and follow-up actions.
• Assist in compliance audits and ensure all activities adhere to legal and accreditation requirements.
• Support the medical staff in continuing education, professional development events, and compliance training.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures that contribute to the efficient operation of the medical staff office.

Qualifications of the Medical Staff Coordinator:

• Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in medical staff services or a similar role in a healthcare setting.
• Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) preferred.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare operations.
• Proficient in MS Office and medical staff management software.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
