Medical Staff Coordinator - part time - AHS - Sherman Medical Center

JOB SUMMARY   Medical staff coordinator. Work assignments routinely involve distributing and processing new applications, reappointment applications and maintain current credential files and database by tracking time sensitive documents such as licenses, certification and insurance coverage to prevent lapses in coverage.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Associates Degree in Social Sciences or a related field or at least two years experience in a human services field or an equivalent combination of education and customer service, in which concepts were explained, complaints were answered and service was expedited.
2. Medical terminology required, must have excellent computer skills for word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics and databases.
3. Critical thinking skills for dealing with physicians, patients, patient's families and hospital employees.
4. Must be able to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
5. Experience in a Medical Staff office in an acute care facility.
6. Certified Credentialing Specialist Certification through NAMSS (National Association of Medical Staff Services) preferred.
