Medical Technologist, Lead - South County Hospital

Works collaboratively with the Section Team Leader/Technical Specialist to support day-to-day operations within the section while functioning as a Medical Technologist.

Performs all duties of a Medical Technologist accurately.

Assists with troubleshooting instrument and quality control issues.

Provides education and guidance to staff working in section.

Organizes and prioritizes work to ensure results are accurate and completed in a timely manner.

Identifies and follows through on problems that may adversely affect patient test results.

Calibrates and troubleshoots equipment as needed. Analyzes and resolves abnormal patient results.

Minimum Qualifications

At least two years’ experience as a Medical Technologist.

Bachelor of Science degree in Laboratory Science or related coursework, current certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (or equivalent) by the ASCP or other nationally recognized accrediting organization.
