Medical Tubing Extrusion Operator - All Shifts - Aptyx

OVERVIEW:

The Extrusion Operator's primary role is to set up, operate, and maintain plastic extrusion equipment in the manufacturing of custom and complex medical tubing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set-up, tear down and operate full range of extrusion equipment such as extruders, dryers, water tanks, pullers, puller/cutters, conveyors, winders crossheads, air injectors, etc.
• Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to Supervisor.
• Maintain and monitor extrusion line activity; where necessary adjust to hold specified tolerances.
• Utilize various types of measuring equipment and tools to ensure items conform to exacting dimensional requirements.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Maintain all quality standards.
• Move materials as necessary in performance of duties.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous extrusion experience is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Basic math skills - able to calculate gross, tare, and net weights.
• Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must have good documentation skills.
• Must have strong attention to detail.
• Must have the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
