Position Overview
The Medical Writer is the Medical content lead on their account(s) and is responsible for day-to-day development of medical content. The Medical Writer is responsible for delivering high quality, scientifically rigorous content that is in line with brand strategy and objectives, while adhering to timelines and internal processes. The Medical Writer must be able to fulfill the responsibilities and demonstrate the competencies outlined below under the direct supervision of their manager or designated senior team member.
Content Development and Execution:
- Conducts required research in a timely and proficient manner, utilizing the appropriate resources
- Develops scientifically accurate, strategically aligned, grammatically correct, and impactful content, from initiation through completion, with input from manager
- Accurately and efficiently annotates content per brand style guide and AMA rules
- Assumes accountability for accuracy of work
Planning:
- Understands the product/scientific/therapeutic and competitive space and proactively provides recommendations regarding planned projects to internal team
- Understands the internal BGB processes and adheres to timelines and procedures, as agreed to by the cross-functional team
Client Interface:
- Actively engages in discussions with clients in a team setting
- Builds skills/is comfortable speaking to content during client calls
- Builds rapport with clients over time through demonstration of subject matter knowledge
- May, at times, act as client-facing medical lead, with support from manager
- Partners with manager and Account team to provide the client with a united, organized, professional, pleasant experience on teleconferences and in person
- Local (tri-state) client engagement travel as needed/required
Agency Interface and Process:
- Understands the role of Medical within the agency and works to set appropriate expectations and operating norms within the team
- Shares best practices and strategic insights within team to maximize efficiencies
- Leads by example to demonstrate efficiency, team productivity, and superior scientific quality for all deliverables

- Our Medical and Scientific Affairs Department consists of 70+ full-time team members, including MDs, PhDs, PharmDs, and engineers. - We are an official student rotation site for six different pharmacy schools; teaching and mentoring is a part of the fabric of our business. Preferred Qualifications
We're looking for smart, talented, and driven individuals who are interested in applying their scientific training to drug development strategy and scientific knowledge exchange. We're looking for individuals who would enjoy working on a range of projects, including traditional "left-brained" projects (complex scientific analysis) and traditional "right-brained" projects (creative, innovative communications). Our ideal candidates are detail-oriented and team-focused, with excellent interpersonal communication skills. We're currently recruiting for:
- Entry-level medical writers: An MD, PharmD, PhD, or MS degree in a relevant scientific discipline is required, as well as medical writers with at least one years' worth of experience in medical communications or related industry.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000
The salary range provided represents what a potential hire may expect to earn in this role at BGB. Actual salary decisions will be influenced by several factors that we use to determine overall fit, including experience (both direct and indirect), education, training, demonstrated qualifications, and organizational need. Salary is only one component of the total rewards package offered at BGB Group.
