This role serves as the primary point of contact for members, handling financial transactions and providing customer service. The Member Service Representative (MSR) is responsible for the specific duties listed below.
Your specific duties will include:
1. Member Assistance:
• Process transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and check cashing.
• Answer questions regarding credit union products, services, policies, and procedures.
• Open new accounts and assist with applications for loans or credit products.
2. Sales and Promotion:
• Identify member needs and suggest relevant products or services (such as savings accounts, loans, and investment options).
• Educate members on digital services (like online and mobile banking) and assist with enrollment.
• Participate in branch promotions, contributing to sales targets.
3. Compliance and Security:
• Maintain confidentiality of member information and comply with federal regulations (such as the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering policies).
• Adhere to credit union policies, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
4. Operational Support:
• Balance cash drawer and manage discrepancies.
• Assist in daily branch operations, including closing and opening procedures.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on policy and product changes

Specific qualifications for the position include:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some roles may prefer an associate's degree or relevant coursework.
- Prior customer service or cash-handling experience (ideally within a financial institution).
- Knowledge of Symitar software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and basic math skills.
- Familiarity with banking software and proficiency in using digital tools.
