Member Support Representative - Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative

Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative (MEC) is a progressive electric utility, member-owned cooperative serving Southside Virginia. MEC is seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of Member Support Representative in our Member and Energy Department servicing our Chase City District.

• A High School diploma or GED is required. An Associate Degree in business, business administration or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a public contact position such as cashier, receptionist, or banker, with exposure to payment responsibilities, collection activities, and customer service, is required.
• Electric utility experience preferred.

The position is fast paced requiring multi-tasking skills while providing excellent customer service to Cooperative Members both in-person and over the phone with reliable information.

The successful candidate will receive member payments and apply them in such a manner to assure accurate and timely accounting and thus enable the Cooperative to serve its members in a courteous, efficient manner.

The individual in this position must establish and maintain outstanding relations with Cooperative Members, and provide excellent member service.

Must satisfactorily pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings, participate in a drug-free workplace and have quality work ethic and safety record.
