The Membership Manager, Programs, is a key support position on the Membership team within Institutional Advancement. This position will report to the Membership Director and supervises the Membership Coordinator. The Manager will be responsible for implementing or overseeing all aspects of the membership programs, including events, touchpoint communications, gift memberships, fulfillment, and stewardship.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and streamline back-office Membership Services with the Membership Coordinator– including membership hotline (phones and emails), gift membership program, and membership card fulfillment (digital and physical cards).
- Plan and execute Members’ Nights, an annual membership event that allows members and donors to go behind the scenes and interact with Museum staff. Includes coordinating with staff in all departments and managing event budgets.
- Lead other stewardship events planned by the Membership team, including exhibition previews/openings, member lecture series, etc.
- Manage email touchpoint communications to members including writing/design and coordination with Marketing to deploy emails.
- Generate regular reports and analyses for all member events.
- Assist the Membership Director with member acquisition and retention efforts.
- Assist Communications Specialist with In the Field (member magazine), including content ideas, drafting copy for member opportunities, editing, and mailing list.
- Provide membership onsite support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of education and experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in membership and/or annual fund
- MS Word, Excel, Google Workspace
- Raiser’s Edge experience preferred
- InDesign experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills, able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for events
- Will occasionally need to lift or move up to 25 pounds
