Westminster Village is seeking a full-time Memory Care Coordinator who brings a compassionate and fun approach to work with them every day! This opportunity is primarily Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, with some evening and weekend hours when needed. This position requires overseeing staff, programming, finance and operations, and regulatory compliance of the Memory Care Unit.

Duties
- Daily rounds of residents in Memory Care apartments as needed.
- Conduct monthly dementia in-service staff and maintain necessary records.
- Respond to emergency calls within the Memory Care area.
- Develops and maintains relationships with resident family members to ensure excellent customer service
- Maintains a dementia-safe environment
- Leads efforts to educate campus staff and the community in dementia-related topics and acts as a campus liaison
- Dialogue with residents, family, Memory Care Nurses and staff to make changes needed to allow residents to live at the highest level of independence possible.
- Review with the Memory Care staff new residents and/or residents who have been hospitalized, admitted to MHC, receiving supportive care trays, and/or had supportive care calls for emergencies/illness.
- Respond to emergency calls within the Memory Care area and work with Assisted Living Nurse to assess Assisted Living residents for illness and possible admission to the hospital or skilled nursing facility.
- Must have and maintain an Illinois State license to practice as a nurse and hold current CPR certification at time of hire.
- Registered nurse with management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
- Memory Care experience-preferred.
- Ability to comply with HIPPA guidelines and regulations.
- Working knowledge of patient care delivery in the Geriatric/Skilled Nursing Setting.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, understanding, and tact in interactions with residents, families and staff.
- Ability to demonstrate calm, professional manner in the event of emergency.
