Description
Our client is a non-profit entity and an experienced provider that operates a state licensed residential facility for up to 136 adults with mental disabilities, ages 18-59. The program offers a structured residence and Outpatient Clinic with intensive mental health supportive services to prepare and empower clients to develop independent skills and improve current levels of functioning to successfully re-integrate back into community living. The facility employs a dynamic team of approximately 45 multidisciplinary staff (e.g., Paraprofessionals, Master's level/licensed therapists, Case Aides, Medication Technicians, etc.) seven days per week to monitor care, provide case management services, mental health services including classes in independent living skills and socialization, individual and group therapy sessions, assistance with vocational and education plans, and medication support services. The Case Aide is responsible for supervising and monitoring resident behavior, record medication compliance. Assist clients in obtaining CA identification cards and MTA Passes. Assist in situational crisis intervention. Transportation of clients as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties:
$20.34/hr - $21.37/hr (non bi-lingual)
$21.34/hr - $22.37/hr (bi-lingual spanish)
+ Additional DMH compensation, up to $1,250 Mo.
Schedule
Sun-Thurs / Tues-Saturday
8:00 am-4:30pm or 9:00 am - 5:30pm

Essential Duties:
- Ability to work and relate effectively with multi-disciplinary treatment team, clients and public.
- Ability to assess clients for dangerousness and intervene in a timely, calm, and appropriate manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently, use good judgment, and remain calm in crisis situations.
- Knowledge of basic counseling skills. Understanding of individual, group, and family psychotherapy.
- Legible handwriting.
- Ability to work various hours and shifts.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors
- Ability to remain calm, objective, and dependable in situations where clients are emotional or uncooperative, and situations where there are assignments that must be met.
- Ability to be objective, stable, and firm with clients who have a history of mental disabilities.
- Ability to appropriately accept orders and instructions from supervisors.
- Ability to appropriately give orders and instructions to clients
- Prior paraprofessional counseling or paraprofessional psychiatric nursing experience.
- Academic training in Behavioral Sciences
- Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences or related area
