Responsibilities for Mental Health Counselor:

• Oversee scheduling of all mental health staff
• Coordinate and serve as liaison for specialty courts and transfers
• Assist in the oversight of the mental health intake process and sick call
• Perform mental health sick call, screenings and evaluations

Qualifications for Mental Health Counselor:

• Be Master's prepared and may be a LISW, LISW-S, LPCC or LPCC-S
• Must hold and maintain a current, unrestricted license in Florida
• A valid CPR card
• A minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience in a mental health care setting, with correctional healthcare experience preferred.
• Must have knowledge and experience in the identification and treatment of mental health and co-occurring substance abuse disorders, discharge planning, principles of social work, basic principles of individual and group behavior
• A working knowledge of psychotropic medications.
