Responsibilities:Position Summary:
The Mental Health Technician is defined as a member of the healthcare team who is accountable for patient care supportive services under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. May have access to or be required to distribute drugs needles or syringes from storage locations (such as large stock supplies automated dispensing units and other carts) to/within patient care areas or treatment carts as defined by hospital policy/procedure.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Nursing assistant home health aide or direct patient care experience required along with 2 years of behavioral health experience required
- Will maintain current competencies and certifications required
- Ability to:
- Work as a team member
- work effectively under multiple demands and adjust priorities as circumstances require to meet staffing needs
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy and precision on consistent basis in the performance of procedures
- treat co-workers patients physicians and family with dignity and respect
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all hospital staff
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Nurse Assistant
