Job Summary and Qualifications

1. Through direct care, observation, and communication with the patient. collects and documents patient admission and shift behavioral and physical clinical data and observations. Provides appropriate information to assist RN with admission and shift RN assessments.

2. Performs vital signs, BP's and accuchecks. Provides or assists patients with Activities of Daily Living. Assists with treatments or procedures within documented level of competency.

3. Provides behavioral health care interventions utilizing the least restrictive interventions, and consistent with a culture of recovery and Trauma Informed Care.

4. Provides for the safety of patients, visitors and staff. Completes routine and special safety checks.

5. Assumes responsibility for completing all mandatory educational, PPD, CPR and CPI requirements within designated time frame and for providing written verification of same for filing.

6. Actively participates in quality management activities by timely reporting of staff, family, visitor or quality concerns.

7. Assumes responsibility for reviewing all work related communications and takes the initiative to seek clarification when needed.

8. Facilitates and/or assists with patient community, education or activity groups. Documents patient's participation.

9. Assists with clerical duties as assigned.

10. Demonstrates knowledge of, and follows policy/procedure, for all hospital patient safety initiatives.

11. Provides safe Transport for patients to and from Behavioral Health Services for any necessary diagnostic test that may be required for their care.

12. Reports to work as pre-scheduled and on time.

What qualifications you will need:

• A bachelor’s degree or college course in health care, mental health, recreational therapy, education, or human growth & development Preferred

Licenses, Certifications, & Training:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support Required

• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Required

-must be obtained within 60 days of hire or start in position

• Certified Nursing Assistant Preferred

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
