About the Job
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coastis seeking an administrative professional for the new Mentoring Center Manager role. BBBS Sun Coast is a non-profit Agency that promotes the mentoring relationships between adult Bigs and school-aged Littles for the purpose of igniting the potential in each child served.
This position will work at the newly designed BBBS Sun Coast facility on Rosin Way in Sarasota, overseeing the multi-purpose Mentoring Center room.
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the scheduling of the mentoring center, support activities in the center and coordinate opportunities to utilize the Mentoring Center in the Sarasota office for activities incorporating Bigs & Littles; trainings and enrichments for staff, board members, Bigs, and families; and partnership and community development.
- Works with department heads to develop an annual plan and schedule for the Mentoring Center.
- Coordinates the training needs of staff, Bigs, Littles, and other stakeholders per BBBSA Standards for in-person development.
- Aids in the development and facilitation of training activities as needed.
- Sources other opportunities for guest speakers and activities that utilize the Mentoring Center through partnership and community development.
- Maintains and communicates the master schedule for the Mentoring Center for all key stakeholders and staff as updates occur.
- Coordinates resources needed for each event in the center including audio/visual needs, food and drinks, room layout and supplies.
- Solicits interest from outside parties for scheduling events at the center for staff development.
- Oversees the housekeeping needs of the center prior to and post event.
- Oversees the coordination of program activities slated for the Mentoring Center (i.e. recognition events, holiday parties, back-to-school events, mixers, etc.) in conjunction with the Marketing & Communications and Program departments.
- Coordinates the Mentoring Center activity peripherals and communications in conjunction with appropriate departments.
- Captures attendance and participation information for reporting to ensure ROI of events(s).
- Acts as the first-line trouble-shooter at all events.
- Trains staff on the use of technology in the Mentoring Center as needed.
- Promotes an environment of inclusivity and diversity in the agency culture and community in all facets of activities and interactions.
- Works events as needed to ensure a safe and productive event at the center, which may include evenings and weekends.

Ideal candidate lives in or near Sarasota, and holds a bachelor's degree in project management, hospitality or a similar field of study utilizing latest technology tools.
This is not a work-from-home position.
Ability to fluently communicate in Spanish is a plus.
