Job Summary:
As a Metal Truss Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed designs and engineering plans for metal truss systems. You will work closely with engineers, architects, and other design professionals to ensure that truss systems are structurally sound, cost-effective, and meet all project specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Drafting: Develop detailed designs and technical drawings for metal truss systems using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Structural Analysis: Perform structural analysis to ensure truss designs can support required loads and stresses. Utilize engineering principles and software to validate design strength and stability.
- Material Selection: Choose appropriate materials for truss components based on project requirements and environmental factors. Ensure materials meet quality standards and cost constraints.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to align truss designs with overall project objectives and specifications.
- Compliance: Ensure that all designs comply with relevant building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for design specifications, calculations, and revisions.
- Problem-Solving: Address design challenges and provide innovative solutions to complex structural problems.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections and reviews of truss designs and installations to ensure they meet quality and performance standards.
Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience in designing metal truss systems, preferably with a background in structural engineering or related disciplines.

Skills:
- Proficiency in Mitek software and structural analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics, materials science, and engineering principles.
- Ability to interpret and apply building codes and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
