Biologics is changing the landscape of disease treatment, and BMS is expanding our biologics manufacturing capacity and development. Our state-of-the-art biologics facility spans across biologics process development, clinical trials, and commercial manufacturing with the approach to expedite the progression of potential therapies and reaching our patients. Our BMS scientists, engineers, bioprocess operators, quality specialists, and an array of other professionals work together in their shared commitment delivering more medicines to more patients faster.
*Works 10-hour SUN-WED (0600 to 1600) which involves working all holidays that fall on the schedule. Required to work some holidays, and during adverse weather conditions in support of manufacturing facility. Flexibility to work irregular hours and short notice overtime. This role is inclusive of a 5% shift differential.
Main responsibilities of Metrology Technician III includes:
• Ensures compliance with EHS guidelines, cGMP regulations, company policies and other external agency regulations during work execution.
• Performing routine calibrations on equipment using MAXIMO in accordance with Metrology SOP's and procedures.
• Extensive knowledge of LOTO and P&ID.
• Must have Great Communication skills as well as train the trainer qualification or some similar training qualifications.
• Work with vendors to coordinate repairs in a timely fashion, this may include escorting vendors into the area, providing part support and organize any participation with other groups.
• Supports adherence to procedures and programs. Identifies areas of opportunity and of non-compliance (Safety and Quality) and takes specific actions to escalate and to resolve the issue promptly.
• Provides metrology technical expertise to other calibration techs regarding Repair or calibration of various devices and/or manufacturing systems.
• Candidate must have the ability to evaluate work required, walk down systems, develop a work plan, create an Energy control plan and all required permits, and establish required tools an parts that might be needed.
• Manages the day-to-day activities of the Instrumentation and Calibration group in the absence of the Metrology Supervisor. including technician training, deployment, work execution, work review and approvals.
• Work with our customers to ensure we are providing the highest level of Metrology support we can. This may include attending various manufacturing/engineering/validation meetings.
• Ensures routine calibration and instrumentation activities are performed in accordance with established guidelines and operating procedures.
• Works with the Spare Parts group to ensure proper materials and parts are identified and available to sustain Calibrations and Corrective activities Ensures the proper execution and compliance of Metrology work orders.
• Provides support to other departments in the investigations and resolutions of Metrology related Quality Events.
• Monitors instrument diagnostics through Rosemounts A.M.S. Software and planning corrective predictive maintenance around instrument needs. Performs, as needed, a variety of installation, calibration, maintenance, etc.
Qualifications
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Maintenance or Operations of Biopharm Manufacturing and Manufacturing Equipment Support With relevant experience in metrology.
• Knowledge of maintenance, operations and engineering generally attained through studies resulting in a B.S., in engineering, a related discipline, or its equivalent.
