The Impact You’ll Make
Manages the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities. Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs. Designs and develops organizational policies relevant to the facilities department. Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansion. May have responsibility for establishing and overseeing health and safety standards. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for managing Fremont and Livermore campus process and mechanical infrastructure system engineers, document control, process tool installation quality manager and continuous improvement project manager
- Core process and mechanical systems of responsibility include, but not limited to:
- Chemicals and Bulk/Specialty Gases, Ultra Pure/Soft/Industrial/Domestic Water, Waste Water Treatment and Transfer, Sanitary/Storm Drain, Process Cooling Water, Clean Dry Air, Chilled Water, Hot Water, Air Handling, Exhaust Air and Humidification systems
- Manage chemical and mechanical engineering staff in their design review input and approval for facility infrastructure and process tool installation projects
- Operational accountability of process and mechanical system performance
- Provide chemical and mechanical engineering construction input and commissioning support for facility infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with process PLC and commercial HVAC control systems
- Manage as-build documentation of process and mechanical system layouts and P&ID’s
- Manage the load/capacity studies for facility infrastructure systems
- Provide review and approval of cleanroom certification reports
- Provide direction of air and water balancing services
- Drive improvement of infrastructure system performance and up-time
Who We’re Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4-6 years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering with minimum 5 years of high tech/semiconductor R&D lab/wafer fab experience
- Professional Engineer license recommended
- Engineering staff management experience
- Experience with standard operating procedure creation and training skills
- Experience with energy efficiency improvement projects
- Work with contractors and service providers to ensure delivery of operational results
- Manage Failure Mode and Effect Analysis program during project design development phase
- Manage capital and expensed project financial management and control
- Possess and demonstrate Lam Core Values

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
Salary
CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $109,000.00 - $239,000.00.
The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
