Job Summary
The Physician Relations Manager builds and maintains referral relationships with market physicians for service lines. This includes supporting physician retention, growing service lines, driving business, and handling various hospital-specific responsibilities as part of the hospital leadership team.
Leadership ability, communications, and interpersonal skills are necessary to interact effectively with physicians, management, staff, and external agencies/customers. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Extensive and documented experience of communicating with top executives and physicians. Ability to establish and commit to long-range goals/vision after analyzing information and assumptions. Highly experienced and competent in management and infrastructure development. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions. Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish). Excellent analytical and negotiation skills. Possess expertise in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word. Understanding of Hospital Services and Operations. Ability to understand the healthcare environment and challenges. Ability to understand the medical community and recruiting resources, e.g., academia, external contractors, seminar opportunities, business opportunities for growth. Ability to understand data collection, market analysis, utilization trends and assessment tools, public relations, marketing techniques and communication theory.
Minimum Job Requirements
Work Experience
Three years of experience in network development, provider relations, or similar fields such as sales, marketing, physician practice improvement, and physician recruitment required.
Three years of management experience are required.
License/Registration/Certification
None.
Education and Training
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, or related field required.
