WAVE is currently looking for a Production Manager to join our team!
The Production Manager is responsible for directing supply chain coordination of raw material, work-in-progress and finished goods through the local facility. Applying manufacturing strategies to ensure that safety, quality, production and cost goals are met in alignment with company objectives. This position is responsible for the scheduling of material procurement, development and oversight of production schedules, and monitoring of inventory levels to align with customer service excellence.
The Production Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager.
This position will support manpower planning, resource management, workflow planning, and project prioritization to achieve operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities
Safety Leadership:
- Drive a safety culture aligned with the 8-Step Safety Process and Think-Plan-Act.
- Identify high-risk safety hazards or risk tolerance, and help to resolve them.
Production Planning:
- Planning of a production schedule for multiple machines; changeovers, steel flow management, overtime, etc.
- Develop and maintain production schedule through BPCS/SAP.
- Develop master production schedule in weekly increments. Establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to seasonal sales forecasts and customer orders.
- Examine production specifications and equipment capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, machines, and capacity resource requirements.
- Coordination of labor resources to maintain on-time production requirements, utilization, and efficiency metrics.
- Interface with manufacturing personnel, purchasing personnel, etc. on material status and production planning issues.
- Maintain consistent reporting and production data entry.
- Maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
Supply Chain Management:
- Material planning and coordinating logistical activities related to forecasting, procurement and on-time delivery of products sourced from suppliers.
- Develop, implement and control the supply plan for finished goods sourced from other WAVE locations in considering demand, capacity, and materials availability constraints.
- Responsible for the analysis of sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements.
- Assist Supply Chain Management in managing material readiness with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
- Manage raw material inventory, obsolescence inventory and scheduled cycle counting.
- Create and manage bill of materials for finished goods.
- Manage material rejects through suppliers.
- Collaborate with customer service, logistics, manufacturing, engineering, shipping, purchasing and vendors.
Production:
- Function as an adviser to other functional departments and external customers regarding tasks, projects, and processes; typically related to production, but may include maintenance and shipping as well.
- Support packaging, commodity and other purchasing related to plant operations.
- Drive continuous improvement in plant operations. Contribute to and maintain log of improvement suggestions.
- Review and administer quality control management from manufacturing through customer feedback.
- Analyze automated data collection to evaluate and assess operations strategy; support operations management.
- Achieve monthly operating plan metrics for safety, quality, cost, and inventory and PE%.
Desired Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory/ coordinator/ facilitator experience
- Preferred; previous experience in production planning or related work in supply chain management.
- Preferred; previous experience managing or supervising manufacturing operations.
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized and capable of solving practical problems in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Commitment to delivering quality results and overcoming obstacles in a time-sensitive environment. Ability to prioritize multiple work streams while remaining calm in a fast-paced department.
- Ability to gain the trust of a team and guide their work. Excellent verbal and written communication. The ability to build relationships and the comfort to reach out to internal and external contacts to request information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Education
Bachelors in Operations Management or Manufacturing Engineering
