Job Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, and in close collaboration with the Trauma Program Director and the Trauma Medical Director, the Trauma Program Manager is responsible for managing the trauma program according to the criteria identified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma (COT) for verified Level I Trauma Centers. Coordinates, plans, and evaluates functions within the trauma program such as, performance improvement, research, trauma registry and trauma related educational services (local and regional). Collaboratively works with the Trauma Medical Director, Physicians and other health care professionals to ensure the care of trauma patients are provided efficiently, with high quality and cost-effective care. Ensures compliance with required standards from regulatory agencies to maintain Trauma Center’s verification and state designation.

Work Experience
Three years of Supervisory/Managerial experience required, with strong nursing experience in trauma, emergency, or critical care required. Knowledge of trauma registry required.
License/Registration/Certification
1. Current Texas or compact RN license to practice in the State of Texas.
2. CEN, or CCRN or TCRN required or obtained within one year of hire.
3. TNCC or ATCN and ENPC required within one year of hire.
4. TNCC or ATCN and ENPC instructor preferred.
5. CPR and ACLS required.
6. One of the following nationally recognized certifications required, or obtained within one year of being in the position:
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN)
- Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN)
- Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN)
Education and Training
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Master of Science degree in Nursing preferred.
