Job Description:
Responsible for supporting technology development and supervising facilities in a large grouping of engineering labs focused on microelectronics development, failure analysis, reverse engineering and product assurance. Support development efforts utilizing non-destructive and destructive techniques including optical surface profiling, scanning acoustic microcopy and X-ray inspection. Manage lab space by deconflicting resources, maintaining preventative maintenance schedules, and interface with Facilities and Environmental Health and Safety
Essential Functions:
- Perform work order-based failure analysis inspections on electrical components working with responsible parties to identify root cause and generate reports.
- Perform inspections and metrology for product development using optical profilometry, scanning acoustic microscopy, X-ray inspection, and general microscopy.
- Perform reverse engineering tasks including X-ray inspection and delayering of electrical components.
- Supervise 5-10 technicians, specialist, and engineers.
- Acts as Engineering’s representative for the Lab Council and attend biweekly meetings to track on time calibrations across SAS, lab custodian metrics, updates to custodian related policies and procedures, and communicate issues to internal auditors/quality. Supervise lab custodians for audit preparations.
- Lead sourcing for lab consumables, service contracts, repair items, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Manage budget to ensure 100% traceability. Coordinate all vendor and customer visits across multiple lab spaces.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Experience in electrical component failure analysis, counterfeit detection, reverse engineering, and nondestructive analysis techniques
- Experience interacting cross functionally with Facilities, Security, Operations, Safety, etc.
- Knowledge and/or training with chemical safety handling and waste disposal
- Prior or current management experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active security clearance
- Experience with Silicon Photonics
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage complex projects with minimal oversight
- Ability to supervise 5-10 people and provide guidance, coaching and training to other employees
