The Computer Merchant is currently seeking a .Net Developer and Application Support to backfill a Technical Lead who is on project assignment. This senior position is within one of our largest clients will provide Development and Application Support to existing production systems and interfaces and new systems and interfaces as they roll into production. This position reports to the clients CIO of Operational Services Division.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with a technical team involved in application development and support. This position requires that the candidate be a skilled developer and accustomed to navigating complex environments. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing procedures ensuring data synchronization between and within systems and their interfaces. In addition, the candidate will be involved in application system administration, configuration and security set up, coordination of design, development and unit testing of interfaces/integrations and reporting. The successful candidate will coordinate with the eProcurement Technical Manager and participate in Interface workgroup sessions, report requirements gathering , development and testing and identify and coordinate acquisition of hardware as needed.

Primary Responsibilities
- Gain an in depth understanding of current client business and technical systems and processes to support technical requirements and staff.
- Manage existing client applications
- Work with eProcurement Technical Lead to ensure successful transition of project deliverables to production environment
- Follow established business, technical and project policies and guidelines aligned with client principles and standards to include the following: use of best practices, meeting management, project plans, status reports and dashboards, risk and issue tracking, change requests and resource management.
- Meet regularly with client CIO of Operational and the eProcurement Technical Manager, technical peers and management to plan and coordinate activities.
- Manage schedule and technical activities assigned
- Collect data and report on technical metrics to be used to determine success factors using established project tools and processes during development and support.
- Identify, track, resolve, report and escalate known issues to CIO for the Operational Services.
- Maintain current knowledge of the technologies deployed by the project and the business processes utilizing them.
Education, Skills and Competencies
- Minimum 7 + years of overall software development experience with demonstrated experience in developing complex, database driven, and web based software applications.
- 5 - 7+ experience working as a data warehouse designer or developer using Microsoft SQL Server and ETL mappings and workflows tools
- Extensive end-to-end experience in building custom and configurable IT solutions.
- Expert in Microsoft Technologies (VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#, IIS).
- Extensive experience in Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012.
- Experience in Microsoft SSIS, Microsoft SSRS and Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
- Experience with one or more other reporting engines: Crystal Reports, Jasper Reports or Tableau.
- Experience with pre-built cubes to design and tailor reports.
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices and web protocols.
- Knowledge of SOAP, XML, WSDL and Web Services.
