The Multicultural Learning Center (MLC) is a TK-8 dual language public charter school with the mission to bring together a diverse community of learners where cultural and individual differences are the building blocks of academic, social, and intrapersonal success. MLC is located in Canoga Park in the heart of the San Fernando Valley.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for an Academic Interventionist who is bilingual in both Spanish and English with the ability to engage and support students including English learners, Special Needs, and Gifted students in an inclusive learning environment in Middle School.
Hourly Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00.
- Collaborate with teachers and instructional leadership team to create data-driven intervention plans for middle school students in grades 6-8
- Provide and facilitate intervention assignments for students in grades 6-8
- Implement behavior and classroom management
- Monitor and document student progress and share with instructional staff to inform assessment and grading decisions.
- Share feedback with instructional and leadership staff to inform educational program improvements.
- Participate in professional development workshops, faculty meetings, and trainings as assigned.
- Serve as on-call substitute teacher as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or currently enrolled as a junior or senior university student with relevant coursework.
- Experience working with and motivating groups of children while maintaining school standards.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- A desire to serve children.
