Position Summary:
The educator will create and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that foster students' technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. The role includes developing curriculum, guiding students in hands-on projects, and supporting their growth.
Summary of Responsibilities:
+ Identify and apply relevant educational research-based instructional strategies in order to develop engaging and differentiated lessons, assignments and assessments.
+ Utilize relevant technology and resources for optimal engagement and differentiation.
+ Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum covering computer science, robotics, and engineering and aerospace principles aligned with state and school standards.
+ Design and facilitate engaging, hands-on lessons in areas such as coding, robotics, and computational thinking.
+ Provide timely, appropriate, and actionable feedback to students.
+ Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
+ Maintain and utilize accurate and comprehensive documentation and evidence of students' progress and development.
+ Guide students through project-based learning and real-world applications.
+ Support student development of science fair, research projects and science fair competitions.
+ Communicate regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
+ Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to align curriculum with broader educational goals.
+ Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse backgrounds.
+ Manage student behavior through positive behavior interventions and support.
+ Participate and engage in professional learning that supports professional growth and collaboration with colleagues.
+ Participate in lab school initiatives that inform instructional practices, instructional materials and resources.
+ Support students in relevant academic and competitive competitions.
+ Engage in research activities to further the school’s mission and to generate advancements in science education and in teaching and learning.
+ Engage with parents and the school community, maintaining open communication and hosting occasional workshops or showcases.
+ Ability to work well in a team environment within and beyond the classroom.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution at the time of application.
• Holds a valid Florida Educator’s Certificate or Statement of Eligibility in Middle Grades Science 5-9.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with a passion for STEM education and innovation.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Holds a valid Florida Educator’s Certificate or Statement of Eligibility in Computer Science.
• Experience in programming, robotics, or drones and in related competitions.
• Knowledge of robotic agriculture.

Background Screening:
Selected candidates must successfully complete and pass all employment screenings prior to the start of employment. Employment screenings may include a criminal background check (level I and level II), motor vehicle check, credit check, reference checks, alcohol, and drug screening check.
The candidate selected for the position will be required to have fingerprinting done at the FAU Police Department and a background check done by the school.
