Job Description
This position involves mig welding on carbon steel to create bridge railings, architecturally exposed structural steel, steel tensile membrane structures, bridge joints, structural steel, traffic barriers, and storm water solutions. The role includes interpreting weld symbols and working with various types of steel, including mild steel.
Responsibilities
+ Perform mig welding on carbon steel for various structural projects.
+ Interpret and work according to welding symbols and blueprints.
+ Participate in fabrication and assembly tasks.
+ Ensure high-quality welds and fittings on all assignments.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in mig welding.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
+ Experience in structural welding and fabrication.
+ Skill in working with carbon steel and mild steel.
+ Knowledge of welding techniques including mig welding, tig welding, and flux core welding.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in aluminum welding is a plus.
+ Fitting skills are highly desirable, especially the ability to interpret complex blueprints and drawings and create fixtures for welding.
Work Environment
This is a classic shop environment; the shop can be hot in the summer, cold in the winter, and dirty all year round. The company fosters a supportive environment where teaching and coaching are emphasized. The facility is equipped with tables, mig machines, and other necessary equipment.
