Position Summary:
This position is responsible for shift operation of all milling units and will assist external departments as business needs arise. This position reports to the Mill Superintendent.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Prioritizing & maintaining a safe work environment – Only Zero Is Acceptable
Total commitment to people safety, food safety, quality, yield & efficiency and productivity
Working knowledge of all equipment, systems & processes
Responsible for assisting in developing SOPs
Assuring mill yield, production, and quality to meet plant needs
Maintaining necessary mill documentation required for tracking mill production, quality, sanitation, and equipment
Assist in managing necessary spare parts, predictive & preventive maintenance programs to support efficient operations
Working with in Company Safety & Work Rules
This position requires that the individual spend a majority of his/her time on the “mill floors” actively working with the Teams to improve safety, quality, efficiencies and productivity
Ability to climb stairs and ladders, work in confined spaces, work in extreme temperatures, and able to spend long periods of time on their feet
The candidate must show good hand dexterity and the ability to work with tools
Candidate needs to be able to work rotating shifts of 8 or 12 hours
Job Requirements:
High-school or equivalent preferred
5 years of directly related experience preferred
A high level of energy and enthusiasm coupled with ability to work on several detail oriented tasks that may be unrelated
The ability to track inventory, make decisions and communicate efficiently with other departments is required
The individual must have a strong working knowledge regarding people safety, food safety, quality, yields/efficiencies and production
The position requires “hands on” experience
Must be mechanically sound in the operation of these processes with a thorough understanding of predictive/preventive maintenance and have the necessary organizational skills to support the efficient operation of the processes
This individual must be a strong Team member and work proactively with associates, reports, peers and upper
